CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION
ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN & PLANNING APPROVAL
The genesis of this project was to convert this tired but architecturally significant property into a generous family home. The project started with 3 observations:

Firstly, the orientation of the house was uncomfortable and ignored the main kerb elevation and there were no clues as to where the front door was. Secondly, the existing architecture had a strong identity on the side and rear but not at the front of the property. Finally, the house was far too small for the family!
Following careful studies, the attic was converted into 2 extra bedrooms and a bathroom. The rear garden was terraced to allow for a modern extension (a split-level kitchen, sitting room and dining area) and the front and side were developed to create a front door and porch to address the street. A garage and workshop were added at the front and this primary elevation was given the decorative attention evident throughout the rear of the property; as appropriate for a main facade. Still under construction this project was taken from concept through to successful planning approval by Forest Rose.
